1973 Bug Resto

Postby ERoss » Fri Jan 01, 2010 3:22 pm

This is my first complete resto. Not too many clean custom late model bugs around so I thought I'd give it shot. What I've learned so far: I suck at welding, I need a bigger garage, Mouse piss sticks.

Take a look at this link for some pics of the progress, http://www.flickr.com/photos/14125347@N ... 979110891/

I really like the no rust part. Did you do your pan in Por 15?

Is there someplace local to get POR 15 or is it a mail order thing? I'll need some this spring.

Updated a few more pics. Got the tranny cleaned, resealed and mounted. Shifter installed, e-brake and heater levers and cables all run, and rear disc brakes. Next up is; running new brake lines, rebuild the pedal assembly and run the cables for that, then off to the front end. 2 inch narrowed adjustable beam, drop spindles, disc brakes, and a set of BRM 4 lugs all the way around and fresh rubber to finish off the pan.
