65 Square

Postby Minispdrcr » Mon May 30, 2011 8:32 am

Well this will be my progress on the Square :)

So far I have rebuilt the Master brake cylinder

got the slaves off

changed a few seals (doors, back door)

installed parts on the front end that someone took off and scattered throughout the car.

Found out the drivers bottom hinge is cracked...will be cutting a hole and welding it up this week.

Which window seals should I get? I cannot decide between the ones with the chrome or ones without...

the ones with chrome are American right? And California are solid?

No chrome is called Cal-Look. If you dechrome the rest of the car go without the trim. Or if you're on a budget. I like the chrome trim for a stock look with all the rest of the car''s trim.

Yeah I cotnacted West Coast Metrics and they dont have any American style front window seals and are just thinking of making them, according to Scott from them.

I just need a seal for now to stop all the water coming in from the front windshield. I got the higher grade stuff from ISP. It will tie me over till WCM has the others in stock I hope.

Also, heard on 98.9 or 94.7 that this friday they will be selling 50 dollar certificates for 25 on the websites heh.

WCM has the best rubbers! (for your windows). I put that stuff in my limo and there haven't been any issues with leakage.

Im going up to Bethany tomorrow to check them out. Been there once.

This is from Scott at WCM

"We were thinking about making them but we are undecided. I know there is one out of Brazil
but it cracks in about 2-3 months after it is installed on a car."

Bill and Steves?

figure out how long the rubber needs to be to fit around the windshield, find another old vw window that is larger, buy that seal, cut it down and super glue it back together. That's how I did the custom windows on my limo. WCM might even sell you the raw material.

just because they look good, time will harden them & you won't stop. just sayin'........JP also get a caliper & check diameter of drums, if they are out they can actually explode under hard braking, it's ur butt in the seat, I like to cover my butt. (most of the time) ;)

Yup, two new ones for 6volt, will just switch over the chocke. With balance tube and all linkage from a fellow that was going to use them on his car, but he got rid of it. So he sold everything off for 150.

Well they are new to me. But they are in great shape and were on a running car.
