Clutch cable shorten

Postby Fireplug77 » Mon Oct 03, 2011 11:23 am

I have been tried to use this kit you can buy to shorten the clutch cable for my SR but it keeps pulling through. Anyone have any ideas or has done it before and it worked. Robert

Mine looks like they cut it, laid the cut off piece next to the one on the car then put 2 of those cable clamps from lowes on it.

Thanks for the reply, I have talk to Ron and told me the same thing but he also told me his puma is on a shorten pan and maybe the clutch cable on it is the right length. Going to have to do something to keep the clutch working.

we always used cable clamps on our ol pan buggies (po' folks) You might get by brazing, but it might harden the cable too much causing it to break, dunno.

I just overlap the cable and use 3 hardware store cable clamps on my race car and never had any problems.
