cold starter

Postby vwlimoguy » Tue Dec 11, 2012 10:54 pm

I went to start the volks rod last night. I was trying out a new key I had cut for it. I turned it over and it didn't start. When I turned the ignition off and pulled the key out the starter kept on cranking the engine. I guess the solenoid got stuck because it wa so cold, about 22°. Took awhile to run back in the gaarge and get a wrench to remove the battery teminal. Had to charge it back up. I guess I'll wait for warmer weather to try and start it again.

I just realized that I missed the club meeting tonight. Happy Holidays to anybody that made it out tonight.

It was the cold, had no issues starting it a couple of days later. The VolksRod got loaded onto a car hauler last night. Its headed to Orange County, CA. Now if I can get my Dad's car back in driveable shape I can finally get back to my German Look Super project.

Sold and gone. I got my last asking price for it. I put in a back seat with a busted spring and decent vinyl to sweeten the deal. 8-)
