That's not an imp.

Looks like a regular manx clone to me, that needs loads of glass work.

Just for you Jim a manx body is the easiest cause you can flip the body upside down and get the pattern exact with it...........................

***The front piece is the hardest cause you gotta make a pattern out of cardboard and cut it out of plate steel with a plasma cutter. Then add center supports with 1x1 square tube and then lay the top over it and weld as you bend it. (i am gonna weld the two pieces on my pan then lay the top piece on it so it does not move )

All of the tubing is 2x3 .076 wall thickness except the front piece which is cut out of 1/8th inch plate steel ( 2x3 is ALOT cheaper than 1x3 )

I can confirm that those bushings squeak like a pay by the hour motel bed. You need to use every bit of grease that comes with them and then some. Can't stress the importance of lube in this situation.

Ha ! It was 50 bucks so i am not complaining wanna be sure and not buy the wrong width beam so this one will do to get it going. And i had to cut off a front bumper that was welded on that did not help matters either.

I only cut the top piece of the shock mount off so it would clear the body. (someone could actually weld it back on it was one cut )

And No not gonna use it its fugly and its cut and turned for more heighth i think the front end would sit way to high.

make a angle iron battery tray and mount it above the trailing arm about where that batt box is, then buy a miata battery, inexpensive small battery.

I was thinking about that but would it hurt it if it got soaked or was under water ???? Was thinking about putting it right behind the passenger seat also on the floor ?
