Turquoise Oval

I saw a really nice looking oval window at Pep Boys on NW Hwy just west of Rockwell.
Tried to circle back but he left going west on NW Hwy as I approached. I never got
closer than 75 yards but it looked perfect.

It was probably the one thats been for sale for a while on the samba and craigslist. Louvered deck lid on it?

The oval for sale on samba is in Ada. It could have been it but it could also be a customer of ours. His name is Patrick. His car is a '66 bug with a grafted rear oval clip.

I don't notice the deck lid, sorry, but it did have matching turquoise wheels. I've never seen a color quit like this one so I thought this would be easy.

The car really stood out as it looked like it just left the paint booth. When I glanced at the front end, it looked like an early model but once again I'm no bug expert and can't say for
sure. I can't remember or didn't notice the front lights the first time I passed by .
Bumpers looked like perfect chrome also.

From that distance I'm pretty sure the driver was a male with white or grey hair.

I just got off the Samba and that's not it. This one looks pure stock and the color is
very very bright with more blue or even purple. You won't forget this color when you
see it.

The same day I also saw an early 70's bug that I've seen before. Real nice shape two
tone light yellow/tan maybe with lighter or even off white doors. Saw him almost the
same place this time and once before in Edmond.

Older man driving it with a white beard (too early for Santa Claus).... so if that helps any.. If I remember correctly it did not have a louved deck lid but I cannot be for sure.. Hope his helps solve the mystery of the oval....

OK, I am embarassed. I am an old guy with white hair and a white beard and a turquoise 56 oval, so it was probably me. The car is a 20 footer, but far from perfect. Oval purists, I don't even want to know all the things wrong with this car. I have had it for 35 years and it waited its turn to be finished for several years, but I have had it on the road for a year or so. Really enjoy driving it. I drove it out to the Yukon bash with my grand daughters, and they enjoyed the attention.

I am new to this board, look forward to participating.

Thanks for the welcome. I probably won't go to the meetings, but will chime in here when I have something to say. It seems like a good community.
