Just finished re-doing my door windows, felts, wing vent rubbers, had to replace the drivers side wing vent, the pivot shaft was broken. Man it was a lot of work and head scratching I have two manuals (Bentley & Haynes) nether one had the correct procedure to install the window regulator, but it is done and every thing works! This all started as a small project, when I got the car it only had one arm rest (on the passenger door) so I wanted to have one on the drivers door. When I removed the door panels they had been wet on the bottom and were falling apart. So you know how it goes one thing leads to another. New door panels, arm rests window felts and seals. It all looks good? Now I need to figure out the tire rubbing problem!

FYI: for my daughter's build on her 74, I purchased some door panels from
Mid America ....what should of been an easy install....was a fist fight  ....the
panels were too big...they would not install flat in the recessed area for the panels....
thus....a very hard to fit...the clips and holes....terrible....and they really did not fit....
and still do not fit....but they are installed.....and will be replaced in the near future

who made the panels, mid america, empi/bugpack or TMI?

seems everything is made in the same factory except TMI.

If im not buying name brand stuff, im buying it from the cheapest source, CIP, Chirco etc..

Jim...I do not remember the manf... :?: do not think they were TMI....
just the plain black with pockets....I just looked in Mid America
catalog...and they do not give a brand....but I will never
order panels from them again...prob will go with the TMI panels on
a stock rebuild....on my turbo project....will go with aluminum

I used TMI panels that I purchased from CIP1. They fit pretty good some of the clip holes on the bottom of the pass. door didn't want to line up. The backing material seems fragile, I cracked a small area on one panel from pressing the clip when it wasn't completely lined up. My bug a 66 has the window & door handles that attach with pins which I have a lot trouble getting driven in while holding the springs in. Any one know a easy way to put them in?
